In 2001, my uncle John passed away and even though we weren’t close I felt a connection with him that was like no other I have had before with a relative. My grandpa was a pilot and John took after him. A couple of years after his death my mom showed me a letter one of his good friends wrote to him in a tribute to his death. It read “You’ve traded a poorer set of wings for the ones you now wear, the best any flyer could wish for.” I’ve never heard such beautiful words before so for years I planned to get them tattooed on me when I turned 18. I finally got them and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
I went to Insight Studios in Chicago and Wendell Frazier was my artist.
